Shirley Henderson, PhD.
Shirley has been practicing counseling since 2015. She received both her bachelors and masters degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ and has taught on the Elementary, Junior High and High School levels. She retired in 2014 after teaching for 28 years and embarked on a second career in Individual, Marriage and Family Counseling. She has a myriad of experience working with children, ages preschool through college, and their families. Shirley has been married to her husband, Brian, since 1981, and has two grown children and several grandchildren.
Since completing her PhD in Pastoral Counseling, Shirley strives to keep her license current and knowledge up-to-date by taking numerous continuing education courses related to the counseling field. She also attends many workshops, Bible studies and seminars, and reads a great deal of books related to counseling and growing as a Christian. However, she states her greatest gains in knowledge have come from working directly with her clients, who teach her to strive to be more like Jesus each and every day.
